For any items valued over £1,000, we require additional insurance to ensure peace of mind for both parties.
What We Class as High-Value Goods

Air Transportation of Valuable Cargo
- Any item or shipment with a declared value above £1,000
- Applies to goods such as electronics, designer fashion, medical equipment, car parts, machinery, and luxury items
Insurance Charges
Declared Value of Goods Insurance Rate
£1,000 – £4,999 3% of item value
£5,000 and above 5% of item value
Examples:
- Shipping a laptop worth £1,500? The insurance fee will be £45 (3%).
- Shipping goods worth £6,000? The insurance will be £300 (5%).
Why We Require This

Due to the risks associated with both air and sea freight, Prime Cargo cannot accept liability for loss or damage to high‑value goods unless insurance is in place. This policy ensures:
